The annual Zimbabwe Cup Clash (UK) is on tonight at the Dunstable Leisure Centre. The collaboration between New Generation Entertainment and GullyView sees a collection of artists from the Midlands in Zimbabwe performing in the UK.
The event in its 11th year is the brain child of popular DJ and UK based promoter King Alfred. “We believe there is a lot of unrecognised talent in Zimbabwe and the show we are hosting is the right platform for artist and deejays to showcase themselves,” Alfred said.
“In the past year we have been graced with the presence of Winky D, Killer T, Judgement Yard, DJ Fidel and this year we are bringing Oskid the best producer in Zim at the moment to host the Show. We also have the fast rising artist outa GullyView Records, Fireman aka Chigogodera with hit tunes line demo NDauya, Ngavauya vese coming to mash up UK.”
DJ Fidel the defending champ of Zim Cup clash 2015 is also on the bill.
“This year Zim Cup Clash UK 2016 has got two categories, Dancehall with DJ Fidel, Small Axe, Dancehall Defenda, DJ SimpleDread. On Afrobeats we have DJ Principal the defending champ, DJ Timeless, DJ Wardzy, Firelix and two female DJ’s Mem Jenn and DJ Ru.
“We also have local Zim UK artists like Flamey, Warhead, Ras Kudah, Don CHIGZ, King Pro performing live on stage. This year the winners walk away with £1000 and the show is taking place on Saturday 21st May @Dunstable Leisure Centre,” Alfred added.
