Sundowns to swap Malajila for Vila?

SOUTH AFRICA – Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Cuthbert Malajila, has struggled to tie down a first team place and could be used as part of a swap deal for Bidvest Wits attacking midfielder, Sibusiso ‘Vila’ Vilakazi.

The Zimbabwean hasn’t played a league game for the Brazilians since September as coach, Pitso Mosimane, has preferred new Colombian signing, Leonardo Castro, up front.

News reaching the Siya crew has indicated that should the Brazilians receive the right offer for Malajila, the club would be willing to let him move, either locally or abroad, in one of the next two transfer windows.

It is further known that the Chloorkop-based outfit are interested in adding ‘Vila’ to their roster in the January transfer window as the midfielder looks for a move away from the Clever Boys.

Siya sources have indicated that Downs may look to offer Malajila as part of a swap deal to try and lure Vila away from the Braamfontein-based outfit.

Vilakazi appears to have slipped down the pecking order at Wits this season and coach, Gavin Hunt, is understood to be a big fan of Downs’ Malajila, further fuelling speculation of a January swap deal. Soccer Laduma
