DOMINIC Chungwa opened his account for Dynamos yesterday as the champions struck very, very late to snatch a hard-fought win over newboys Flame Lily at Gwanzura.

The former CAPS United man, who came in as a second-half substitute, powered the Glamour Boys to victory after finishing off a fine move initiated by midfielder Ronald Chitiyo in the 89th minute.

DeMbare had a tough afternoon in this rather dull Castle Lager Premiership match and the Premiership newboys will feel they were robbed of a priceless point they deserved.

“Gwanzura is a difficult pitch and, for Flame Lily, it is their home ground. The players are not used to playing here regularly,” said DeMbare coach David Mandigora, who also praised midfielder Chitiyo.

“He is playing well. He is part of the team and I hope he continues like that. Getting a win is good and we are taking each game as it comes.”

Flame Lily coach, Nesbert Saruchera, said his men paid for their inexperience.

“Lack of experience cost us the match. The guys are still learning, they are youngsters, but we need to push but it is still too early to be worried,” said Saruchera.

“We will go back to the drawing board and try to win our next assignment.”

Oscar Machapa connected well in the first half but just missed the target while Godknows Murwira’s dangerous shot was expertly dealt with by the ‘keeper.

The newboys appeared to be holding on for a big point until, you know who, Chitiyo turned on the magic again and his fine work was finished by Chungwa.
