Liabunya, who made headlines last year when he successfully predicted that President Peter Mutharika would win the presidential race in the May 20 tripartite elections, wrote on his Facebook page that he was receiving threats having prophesied that Peter Mutharika’s health will deteriorate leading to his resignation as state President.

“I would like to apologize to my followers around the world that we have taken a long time to release the Malawi Nation detailed prophecy due to reasons beyond control including threats, but I would like to say that the prophecy will still come out if [Mutharika and the government] don’t sort out the areas God has told them to. And threats will not work but rather will just speed up the prophecy and make things worse before time.”

Liabunya had told the nation that God was will punish the President with a serious illness over Mutharika’s failure to fulfil the covenant the president signed as prerequisite win the May 20 elections.

“There will be sickness, one after another, between Mutharika and his wife. They will be exchanging on their trips to hospitals. A persistent seesaw of medical attention! (sic)” Liabunya prophesied.

While reiterating the prophecy, the self acclaimed Prophet of God has warned Mutharika and the Democratic Progressive Party for issuing the threats instead of focusing on rebuilding their relationship with God, saying the threats will only speed up fulfilment of the Mutharika prophecies.

“I would also like to say boldly that I’m not trying to ask God that this should come to pass but just to warn you what 2015 holds for Malawi so that you will know how to stand in your prayers because I’m the watchman who is supposed to warn Malawians ahead of time so that they don’t walk in darkness.” He wrote on his official Facebook page.

The Prophet has also been at the nick of issues over prophecies concerning the death of President Mugabe.

According to reports at the time, Liabunya said “Mugabe’s biological clock will not tick beyond this year” after which Zimbabwe will be “restored” to be in the top five of the richest countries in Africa.

Newspaper reports said Liabunya said this during the night of cross over service conducted in Area 23 at Music Cross Road tent in Malawi’s administrative capital Lilongwe in the wee hours of January 1.

During the same service Liabunya said Hakainde Hichilema would emerge as the new President of Zambia when the country goes to election next week Tuesday. The United Party for Development leader will face Patriotic Front leader Edgar Lungu who in December flew to Zimbabwe to consult with Zimbabwe’s leader.

Liabunya also said Mugabe’s wife Grace “will never win in Zimbabwean politics” and had simply joined politics to “protect her ill-gotten wealth.”
