An awful lot of negative rubbish has been said so far by people about Elizabeth Tsvangirai but after seeing her for the first time in the same space in Birmingham, I noticed something peculiar and special about her.
Without sending any warning shots to the big man, I think I saw the type of woman whom you can only find in a bliss special TV set up. Meaning she portrayed a caring and perfect wife who always preserves a third eye for her dear husband regardless of circumstance or audience.
The bible says in Proverbs that, ‘An excellent wife is the crown of her husband…’, unlike the empty talk in the state media, Tsvangirai has clearly found a perfect helper and fitting nonpareil. When Tsvangirai is speaking, her total attention is always on him.
When he’s off the podium she makes sure that she is at par with her husband, owns his ministration herself and creating a cosy ambiance around him.
Seeing her even in pictures and videos, she has always been totally conscious of the role that she plays in Tsvangirai’s life. I had to say this because of an obvious comparative match, Grace Mugabe who sometimes gets some of us questioning whether she is really 100% aware of her bit part in our society.
I mean seriously, when she speaks in her rehearsed Kriste Mambo English accent in front of 70 year olds in rural Zimbabwe. Or when she wears her 4 inch stunner shade at important national events then you wonder if she is any close to the consciousness that Elizabeth has.
I couldn’t help but admire how Tsvangirai felt so relaxed and happy to keep himself so glued to Elizabeth in public. When she spoke I heard a motherly voice and tone; her reasoning was one of a passionate and concerned mother.
The moment she stood up and courteously started speaking, I understood why the state media always comes shotgun blazing on her person whenever their newsroom runs dry of propaganda.
For them she projects an unsafe and threatening comparison with Grace and they know that the only way to discredit her will be to attack her in their media.
She has a special touch with her audience, she is totally in the know of the things that are happening and maintains a special connection in speech with her husband. Truth be told, Grace has found it difficult to define her audience and position that’s why everyone is mum in matching grounds with Sally.
On the other, hand Elizabeth hasn’t been around for long but already has proven that she is a darling of her people because she’s on her position for the perfect love of her husband first then everything else is evidently coming into good place.
Without questioning much on someone else’s motives, seriously Elizabeth doesn’t look like the one who can whinge and hold the whole nation at ransom because she can’t get a shopping visa to luxury malls in Europe.
To me she didn’t look like a hard hearted mother of a nation who has the capability of chasing away children from their own piece of land to save selfish personal interests. Her speech and actions did not strike me like she is with Morgan for anything else but for love and edifying each other.
