The event was attended by Chipinge District Government officials, among them District Administrator Mr Edgars Seenza.

Speaking during the Sunday service, Zaoga Chipinge District pastor, Pastor Jefferson Ushendibaba, said the church found it wiser to celebrate its 54th anniversary, as well as the 91st birthday of their visionary leader with donations towards the floods victims.

“We find it good as a church to play a social responsibility role by uniting to contribute to our fellow brothers and sisters who were affected by floods.

“As a church we are praying that God will help them in securing befitting accommodation.

“We are taking this opportunity to congratulate the church for reaching 54 years with a remarkable progress made throughout the country and even beyond our borders.

“The churches also hail our visionary leader, Apostle Ezekiel Guti, for attaining 91 years.

“We wish him many more years,” he said.

He thanked Chipinge District for their massive support in raising donations for the flood victims.

“I would like to thank this church for their response to help the floods victims.

“The DA’s office is also proud to announce that Chipinge District contributed the most donations in Manicaland.

“Out of the eight tonnes of goods donated in Manicaland, Chipinge District contributed five tonnes.

“I want to assure everyone here that all donations will reach their intended destination,” he said. Manica Post

Churches founded on towering personalities rarely survive their founders intact. Authority blurs. Family claims collide with institutional ones. Faith becomes a vocabulary for power struggles. ZAOGA did not follow that script, and that fact alone demands attention.
