The Zanu-PF Politburo meets in Harare on Monday to deliberate on several issues affecting the party and the nation.

In a statement yesterday, party secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa urged all Politburo members to attend without fail.
“The Secretary for Administration, Cde Didymus Mutasa, is advising all members of the Politburo that there is going to be a Politburo meeting on Monday 12 May at Zanu-PF Headquarters,” he said.
Mutasa said the meeting would start at noon.
The Zanu PF government is under severe pressure from a near comatose economy and intense factional fighting by camps vying to take over the presidency from the 90 year old Robert Mugabe.
It is estimated that 10 000 people have been laid off since last year and more are expected to be retrenched as firms continue to shut down.
Some economists blame Zanu PF’s controversial election victory last year and a convoluted indigenisation policy for hampering investor confidence.
