Today’s society is bedevilled by sad, gory, horrific and pathetic acts committed by people of all gender, race, creed and age. Shootings, murder, thievery, rape, bullying, infidelity, piracy you name it.

Society is more and more malfunctioning like a faulty production line. What has come upon us? What is more worrying is how perpetrators are given so much media space, presented as heroes and multitudes of them loose to roam streets free men.
Whilst the worm has eaten into both sexes, I thought I would step back and urge the male fraction to stand up and straighten their act.
Contemporary society condones and even fans the flames of unbecoming behaviour by showering praises and idolizing malefactors. In some circles they are referred to as ‘real men’. It is this very point that I will address. Have we forgotten what real men are?
Real men protect children, not pounce on the vulnerable minors committing the heinous offence of rape.
Real men fight off injustice towards their wives and not fight them.
A man is one who resolves to and keeps his vow of fidelity against all odds and not one who boasts of a chain of mistresses.
A true man is not seen by leaving a trail of children every place his shadow rests, but one who looks after his progeny and is available as an exemplary father figure.
A real man is not one known to gulp down the most of the strongest liquor only to go home wasted, but one who takes good care of his body and saves up cash for progressive projects.
A man admits when he is wrong, apologizes and takes responsibility for his actions, not one who covers up his errors and uses his pocket to buy justice.
A man is not that person who boasts in making huge profits from underpaying his overworked labor force, but one who pays himself last after feeding his laborers and their families.
A real man is not the bloated businessman who makes a quick buck from scandalous deals, but one who builds his fortunes laying each brick on the solid foundation of unquestionable integrity.
So, the next time you see an article that glorifies a man in the wrong, or when you hear people idolize a known robber, gently remind them of what REAL men are.
We can not attain perfect characters, unless we soak our efforts and willingness to repent in the abundant grace of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
A few REAL men will make the world a better place.
