Goblins terrorising Mutoko family

A Mutoko family rues the day they got goblins that are now allegedly demanding blood from their offsprings.

The Kurumekaya family, of Mhondoro Village under Chief Chikore, has been living in fear of their own goblin they got as protection and wealth spinning creatures in the family, as the goblins, have so far claimed the life of their 22 year old son.

So thirsty, family members claim, are the goblins that they are demanding more blood which has left the couple – wife Rosemary and husband Christopher Karumekaya- at loggerheads.

Such are their woes that a local witch doctor -Paradzai Nyarugwe- stormed the Karumekaya homestead on Monday night (last week) wanting to place more goblins at the homestead for defaulting in payment for the cleansing services he did at the home.

Rosemary and Christopher are now using separate bedrooms as the latter uses the one housing the goblins. No one is allowed to use or enter into Christophor’s bedroom, it emerged.

“We were consulting witch doctors as we raised our family. But all the trouble came when my husband left for Mozambique and brought goblins which he never told us about.

“We only got to know of the goblins when my son got seriously ill and a local witch doctor told us that our son was going to die as the goblins wanted to quench their thirst with our son’s blood,” said Rosemary shedding tears.

She said their son indeed died but the goblin continued harassing the family such that there was no peace night and day.

“My husband confessed that he had taken goblins from Mozambique and that had been the reason why he was now using a separate bedroom that was inaccessible to anyone.

“Christopher admitted to having brought a clay pot that houses his goblins but we have never seen the pot since we are not allowed to get into the bedroom,” said Rosemary.

Rosemary said all her children had deserted them as they were now based in Harare leaving them to deal with the goblins alone.

“My children have turned their backs on us. Because when they visit with their children they are all attacked by the goblins,” she lamented.

She said their children were always getting bitten by unseen things while others got beaten.

“The children would always get bitten and some would get stiff.”

However, Christopher was not at the homestead when H-Metro arrived as he was reported to have gone to villages beyond to look for a beast to pay Nyarugwe with for the cleansing services rendered.

The goblins are also reportedly tormenting Nyarugwe the witch doctor.

“I cleansed their home after their son got sick and I told them that he was going to die as appeasement to the goblins.

“After the death I cleansed the homestead so that the goblins do not continue tormenting them and I charged them $200 but they are reluctant to pay me.

“I have no option but to return the goblins as they also causing havoc to my family as they want to be paid,” Nyarugwe.

The witchdoctor said failure to pay them the $200, he would want a cow.

“I used spirits of my ancestors to cleanse their homestead. Our ancestors are not related but I took the risk. Now they are reneging in paying me; I have no option but to return the goblins to their homestead,” fumed Nyarugwe.

“I have no option by to reverse the deal.”

Nyarugwe said he had given Karumekaya until Tuesday night to pay him failure of which he would bring the goblins.

“The goblins want tender blood; they claim that Christopher’s blood was no longer palatable since he was old,” said Nyarugwe.

At the Karumekaya homestead there was a prophet identified as Madzimai Martha Mberi of Johanne Masowe We Chishanu apostolic sect from Chitungwiza who was also helping the family.

Madzimai Martha said the past three days had been hectic as Nyarugwe threatened to bring goblins.

“Karumekaya was always consulting witchdoctors in his life; now no one really knows where these goblins came from. But they are tormenting the family and they need help,” she said.

She said she will help the Karumekaya family until their problem is solved.

When H-Metro left Tuesday night, Christopher was not yet back with the beast to pay Nyarugwe with for the cleansing services. H Metro
