Speaking at her memorial service in Fourways, north of Johannesburg – the Zimbabwean born broadcaster was described as a pioneer and an impeccable mentor. Her former colleague at ZBC and current SABC News anchor, Peter Ndoro says Chavunduka’s ambitious nature was contagious.

“One of the things that really inspired me was when I heard that Alice got a big job in South Africa because suddenly the whole world got bigger for some of us and so much was possible.”

Ndora says Chavunduka paved the way for him in his broadcast career.
