HARARE – Musician Willom Tight has bounced back with a new album titled “Ndewangu” (Ndoni Yamanzi). The “Ndinoda Wangu” singer has been busy working behind the scenes with his project and his son Gary Tight’s music.

Apparently, Gary has been a revelation since his grand entrance on the music circles. The musician is proving to be his own man, holding shows across the country. The youthful musician completed his Ordinary Level studies last year and is taking music seriously.

The 18-year-old plays a number of instruments and is fast becoming a favourite amongst jazz fans. He has since formed his own band Zion Originated.

But this time Willom, born Willbroad Muponda, has gone the extra mile to feature well-known South African singer Speedy. The Bongo Maffin member features on the first single which is “Newangu (Ndoni Yamanzi)” and the album is called “Manifesto”.

An elated Willom Tight took to Facebook to announce his arrival on the music scene.

“Willom Tight has signed with Shamiso Music and Entertainment in Jozi. New album ‘Manifesto’ out end of October,” he posted.

The upcoming album is set to consolidate his status as one of Zimbabwe’s polished young musicians. His previous album, titled “Chinyerere”, received a considerable amount of airplay on most radio stations. The album also features a song dedicated to the late musician Samson Mtukudzi on the song “Tribute to Sam Mtukudzi (Wakaenda Usina Kuoneka)”.

His 2007 release, “Kuza Ngoma”, was also largely attributed to his split with his fellow musician and close friend Dino Mudondo, with whom he recorded a number of duets among them “Bhazi” and “Makoikoi”.
