HARARE – Afro jazz outfit Too Open’s band leader Lloyd Chidikano fled his matrimonial home in Kuwadzana after pictures of him kissing another woman at Rufaro Stadium last weekend were published by the H Metro tabloid on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old drummer had his shenanigans at a “too open” space for the cameras to miss as CAPS United took on Black Rhinos in a challenge match. Sadly the pictures were published on his legal wife Prisca Salim’s birthday.
The former Mutare Boys High student had just given an interview expressing his love for his wife Prisca Salim and warned stalkers and ‘groupies’. He claimed he was faithful to his wife but was under pressure from ‘groupies’ who assumed that he was single because of his youthful looks.
Lloyd’s love life has been under the microscope because of his weakness for ‘romantic public stunts’. At one time, it was exposed that he was dating former Miss Matofotofo, Monica ‘Sele’ Chikasha.
The matter came to light when they were spotted getting cosy in public at a local sports bar. Then, Monica Sele and Lloyd acknowledged that they were indeed in love. And before the publication of the pictures, he had said that it was a thing of the past.
Lloyd claims that he has been a victim of groupies who stalk him and jam his mobile phone and yet he is happily married.
“Tomorrow is my beautiful wife Prisca’s birthday and I take that opportunity to declare to my female fans that I am happily married. I hope musicians take a cue from what I have done because most musicians fall prey to these women.
“They lie that they are single when they are in fact married. I want all women who stalk me to leave me alone. My Whatsapp is inundated with romantic messages from strangers and I am glad I have an understanding wife,” he added.
Asked where these ladies get his number, he replied: “Well they do their research and ask from my associates.”
In a dramatic turn of events Lloyd has now revealed that he has since fled home in “fear and respect” for his wife. “Well, that picture was unfortunate. I love and respect my wife and I actually had something planned for her birthday.
“But now, I have fled home and I am afraid to go back because I know tempers are still high and my beautiful wife might make emotional decisions,” he said.
