Former Big Brother Stargame housemate and controversial urban groove singer Rockford “Roki” Josphat has housed his ex-wives Pauline Gundidza and Melody Musekiwa under one roof.

Roki, who is famed for trying to have his own version of the Jackson Five, with his kids, also perform with his two ex-wives — Pauline as a backing vocalist and Melody as a dancer. In an exclusive interview with Saturday Lifestyle, Roki said the move was meant to cut costs and give him time to concentrate on his music career.

Ironically, the talented yet naughty singer has since moved out of the house to live with some friends just a few kilometres away from where his ex-wives are. They are all living in Waterfalls.

“Its true that they are staying together, (Pauline and Melody) they don’t have problems with each other, in fact they gang up against me. This is purely business decision, inga anababa vedu vaisiya anamai kumusha vachinoshava wani hapana chinoshamisa, its about progress” said Roki.

He said he was looking after his ex-wives, and taking care of their day-to-day expenses. “One of my guys is not here; he has gone to drop some groceries there. I look after them well but I no longer want to have other children, its time to make money,” he said.

Roki has five kids with four different women — two kids with Pauline, one with Melody and another two with unidentified women. Roki made it clear that dating women were no longer on top of his priority list.

“I think I now need a girl to hang out with on Sundays only. After a week of working tirelessly one needs a girl while chilling at home, but it’s no longer important to me,” said Roki, who is reported to be dating one of her dancers, Tari, an allegation he played down.

“I am not seeing her, she is my dancer. People think so because I spent most time with her rehearsing,” said Roki. While Roki and friends live in a well furnished house, his ex-wives had to be content with living in a backyard cottage at a place where electricity was disconnected by Zesa for non-payment.

Aware that the media was on their toes, Pauline and Melody were evasive on every question posed by this reporter, with Melody even refusing to disclose her surname. To add weight to Roki’s revelation, social media chats between Melody and her close friend reviewed that they were indeed staying together with Pauline.

“I don’t have any problem staying with Pauline; in fact no one was forced to. Roki said it’s good so that we reduce the costs. Roki has since moved to live with Discord and other boys,” Melody chatted, on the social network, Whatsapp.

She also bemoaned the place they were lodging were not up to scratch saying the electricity was disconnected. “Sha ma one, pamba pacho hapana magetsi apa landlord vanechikwereti che US$3 500,” reads another chat.

Lovedale Makalanga, popularly known as Discord, also confirmed that they were staying together with Roki in a chat. “Roki is now with the boys and Melody and Pauline are staying together,” he chatted.

When contacted for comment, Pauline threatened to seek peace order against journalists. “I have had enough of you, I don’t want to comment, if you continue pestering me I will report you to the police,” she said before hanging up her phone. Herald

Leave Roki alone – he is just a teeny weeny cog in ED’s Grand...

By Tendai Chabvuta Saying that Roki’s viewership numbers are “bought” makes you a hater in Zimbabwe. Complaining that Koffi Olomide mentioned President Mnangagwa in the collabo between him and Roki makes one an MDC supporter. Dancing to the song and praising Roki for a job well done makes you a ZANU PF supporter. What to do, Son and Daughter of the Soil? Hate or Love Roki, Like or Dislike ZANU PF and be upset or not by Koffi Olomide’s “ED Number 1” chant, one thing is clear, the ““Patati Patata” ” song will be played on encore for some time to come by local Zimbabweans and those in the diaspora wherever they are across the globe. The song is a good one – not world class but good enough. Roki is a star Zimbabwean musician who deserves to be supported. However, what is clear in all this is that Roki has been used to deliver such a masterstroke of a strategy to woo Zimbabwean youth to support ZANU PF and ED. He like other Zimbabwean artistes in the past will and have been used to draw attention, campaign, and distract Zimbabweans into supporting ZANU PF and ED without questions. To get upset with Roki over this song is to get it all wrong and miss the point. The young man does not even have the mental wherewithal to fully comprehend what is going on here. Worse still, it is very doubtful whether he will even be paid enough to resurrect him from the poor state of affairs he has found himself in the most recent past. This “Patati Patata” song is a ZANU PF project meant to draw young people to ZANU PF communally and more personally for ED in preparation for the 2023 elections.

Roki is an artist – PERIOD… Analysis by Tendai Humbasha Maduwa

By Tendai Humbasha Maduwa Okay fellas, as usual, mine are very unpopular posts with unpopular thinking, that of a mere villager. Let me start by boldly dismissing that this is not a review, I am not qualified Enough to do reviews and not anyone is anyways. So I will let those who are qualified to do it , go for it. As an artist, I will speak with the voice of one. Roki is a businessman and his business is in music. Just like anyone else in business we make good and wrong investments, we take low and high risks. What happens next is another chapter we have to deal with when we get there. Passion Java is an opportunist who uses whatever available (mostly controversial ways) to get his children's bread buttered, yes he fake a lot of things in life, but reality is the dude is living well. ED (Emmerson Mnangagwa) on the other hand is a politician who also takes advantage of anything or anyone gullied and hungry to gain him more terms in office (just like any politician anyways).
