Mambas left back given red for two legged challenge
Having watched in disbelief as his team’s 23-match unbeaten run came to a halt at the hands of a brilliant Monomotapa, Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu has enthused that his charges have all it takes to bounce back against Black Mambas this afternoon.
Highlanders, who led the better part of the campaign, now find themselves playing catch-up to defending champions Dynamos, who also have a tricky fixture against Hwange at the Colliery. In the capital, CAPS United meet red-hot Monoz and have their five-match unbeaten run at stake.
Highlanders will be under the microscope as fans would want to see how they respond to the morale-shattering 3-0 defeat last week, a task Kaindu reckons his charges can achieve. The defending champions narrowly lead the title charge with 55 points, two points better than Highlanders’ 53.
They will, however, not find it easy at Hwange, whose coach Nation Dube was assaulted by Dynamos marshals in the first leg and will be eager to avenge the 2-4 loss they suffered in the first leg.
