Urban groover Rockford Josphats, popularly known as Roki, is set to breathe life to the normally sleepy city of Masvingo when he descends on the country’s oldest town for what promises to be a memorable gig at Club Liquids.
Dubbed Roki’s farewell gig ahead of his shows scheduled for London in the near future, the urban grooves sensation is likely going to attract a full house at Club Liquids as he has a huge following in Masvingo.
Roki is also the man of the moment after stealing many hearts during his debut appearance on Big Brother Africa where he was unfortunately kicked out after a brawl with fellow Zimbabwean housemate Maneta Mazanhi.
The Masvingo show will be a perfect opportunity for Roki to redeem himself and show his legion of followers in Masvingo that he is still one of the pacesetters of urban grooves music in Zimbabwe. Show promoter Jack Chivanga yesterday said Roki’s farewell gig at Club Liquids was a must attend show for all urban grooves music lovers.
“We are promising the people of Masvingo one of the best shows ever, what more with Roki on the stage. We have made the necessary arrangements to make sure that revellers have cold beer and security,” said Chivanga.
He said Roki’s show at Club Liquids was also an opportunity for his fans to came face to face with him after his exploits in Big Brother Africa where he won many admirers.
“We simply decided to organise a show for Roki here in Masvingo to answer to the needs of his growing number of fans especially after his exploits in the Big Brother Africa where he was generally the most popular character,” said Chivanga.
Roki is expected to belt hits such as “Chidzoka” and “Baba naMai Sky” from his latest offering while his dancing queens are also expected to serenade urban grooves lovers in Masvingo. The Herald
