Noisettes star to be honoured at ZAA awards

For Zimbabweans in the UK all roads lead to the Mermaid Theatre in London on Saturday the 9th of April as a galaxy of Zimbabwean celebrities and singers grace the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards Ceremony hosted there.

The organisers say the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards is “a distinctly special awards ceremony seeking to recognise Zimbabweans who have pushed the limits against all odds to raise the Zimbabwean flag high and do both themselves and their fellow countrymen proud.”

Among the star attractions will be Shingai Shoniwa, the voice behind the internationally recognised music group, The Noisettes. Shingai will receive an Honourary Award for an achiever who has maintained high visibility on an international scale and has achieved exceptional excellence in their field.

Special hosts for the evening will be the talented Television, Film and Theatre actor ‘’Denver Isaac’’ www.denverisaac.com and beautiful Miss Zimbabwe 2008 Cynthia Muvirimi. Also present will be Zimbabwe-born British heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora.

Additionally the stage is set to come alive with a list of confirmed artists which include the Kamikaze Test Pilots, Tinashe, Eska Mtungwazi, Emkay, Bkay ‘n Kazz, Obert Mazivisa and the Trumpet Echoes amongst others. Various achievers will battle it out in the sectors and categories that include Sports, Business, Music, Tourism and Charity.

Organisers promise “an absolutely electrifying evening filled with people from all walks of life” and say “you would have to be crazy to miss out on this brilliant opportunity to mingle, socialise and network with the ultimate who’s who of Zimbabwe!”
