Biti’s young brother suspended by MDC-UK

A brother to Finance Minister Tendai Biti, Stanford Biti has been suspended from the MDC structures in the United Kingdom.

A statement from the MDC UK and Ireland organizing Secretary Jaison Matewu said ‘By now you will be aware that we have people that have rebelled against the MDC. You are being asked to be vigilant as these people will be calling meetings in the name of the Party and yet their aim is to destroy the MDC.’

Matewu went further to say ‘please also take not that the following people have been suspended awaiting disciplinary proceedings;’ He then went on to list Tande Mutasa (Bristol Branch), Stanford Biti (Southend On Sea), Ms Suzeet Kwenda (Southbeds branch), Crispen Chamburuka (Oxford branch), Simemeza (Midlands South Northampton) and Peter Nyoni from the Derby branch.

‘These people must not be allowed to operate in the structures until they have gone through the disciplinary process. We urge all our members not to attend any events not sanctioned by the Organizing Department and authentic MDC structures,’ Matewu added.

The MDC structures in the UK have over the years been riven by factional fights and year in and year out rebellions are the order of the day. An observer told us a lack of discipline and financial impropriety were the root causes of most of the power struggles.
