MDC UK deny corruption charges

The National Chairman’s offices (MDC UK province) has refuted allegations in emails currently circulating accusing the MDC UK executive of corruption.

We do not have the original email that he was responding to. To respond to an article written by a one Simukai Chacha, published and circulated on the 24th of July 2009, is tantamount to dignifying the childish gibberish. For the record we are aware that we have some elements within our structures masquerading as party activists, yet they are CIO agents.

We are also alive to the fact that we have certain people who have elevated themselves to be the Godfathers of divisions and destruction of the Party particularly in the United Kingdom.

As an office we are therefore not surprised by the recent allegations seeking to drag the national leadership into this whole mess. When current UK & Ireland was ushered into office in 2007, the democratic will of our party members prevailed as shown by the current constitution of the Provincial leadership. Attempts therefore to suggest that the National Chairman foisted the leadership onto the electorate during the elections are ill founded, illogical and without any basis.

We reject in totality that there were ever any underhand dealings with money changing hands and call upon the author of the article to furnish us with evidence to prove as such. The UK external assembly has been a shining example to all assemblies, therefore we will seek to protect the current leadership and offer them support wherever possible so that they continue to be a beacon of hope to the long suffering Zimbabweans back home.

The root cause of the problems lie in the fact that people have joined the MDC for different reasons. Some genuinely believe in change while some are there for positions with the most evil ones who seek to destroy the people’s movement, through the writing of such divisive opinions have been planted by CIO’s.

Dirty linen cannot be washed in public and once you see yourself reaching the desperate levels of one Simukai Chacha, that is denigrating the party leadership then you ought to know that you don’t belong to the people’s project. You belong to ZANU PF where there is always infighting and factionalism.

The leadership is currently seized with issues of delivery that is improving the livelihoods of the people of Zimbabwe and pushing the democratization agenda and therefore will not be seen wasting time responding to the Chacaha’s of this world.
