Jean Gasho: "I couldn’t help but wonder, hang on a minute, there is something really wrong with this. Mai TT sounds deeply hurt. Watching the video was truly disturbing. But I think it was very wrong of her to disclose another person’s HIV status to the world. Surely that could be a criminal offence.
If the ex-husband had knowingly infected her with HIV, why not report him to the authorities for such a cruel crime. Why wait on his wedding day, to disclose such information to the world, not the police."
Jean Gasho: "Dear Zimbabweans, its just a BBC programme, created with the intention of giving guests hard hitting questions that they feel uncomfortable to talk about. That’s the script of the programme. It’s not like something unheard of happened to Nelson Chamisa, that’s what happens with thousands of guests who have been on the show."
Jean Gasho - Yesterday I sat with my 13-year-old daughter Nakai after she came back from school telling me that the whole school, even the teachers were talking about Mugabe. We talked a lot about Zimbabwe, and what type of a president you were. I told her my thoughts, and she looked at me and said, ‘Write about it mum. Write about what you have told me about Mugabe on your blog.’
Jean Gasho - I do sometimes cringe at the length we go just to get our ego stroked on social media, even when we know it’s not even real. I was recently added to a Zimbabwean Facebook group where women post pictures of their houses. Apparently, its supposed to be a motivational group where women encourage each other with decorating ideas, but I see it more as a ‘my house is nicer than yours’ kinda thing. The competition on that group is excruciating. Some women go as far as to steal pictures of houses on google and pretend that the houses are theirs so that they get their ego stroked on the group with likes and comments.
Jean Gasho - I do not think it’s easy to rule such a people, Mr President. People who are as confused as a hungry baby in a topless bar. A people who will support anyone but their own. A people who condemn anyone who is their own. A people with no vision. No ambitions. No focus. No unity. No moral compass. A people whose thrives on misplaced priorities.
