Zimbabwe prisons launch manhunt after inmate escapes from Harare jail

HARARE – The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services has launched a nationwide manhunt after an inmate escaped from Harare Central Prison on Saturday afternoon.

The escapee, identified as Jeffrey Jingura, is a Class B inmate serving a sentence for theft.

ZPCS said Jingura fled while working at the prison workshops, allegedly escaping in a vehicle he had been repairing.
