Police confirm arrest of Robert Mugabe Junior and his syndicate over drug peddling

HARARE – Police in Zimbabwe have confirmed the arrest of Robert Mugabe Junior and his syndicate for alleged drug peddling.

Junior is the eldest son of the late President Robert Mugabe and former First Lady Grace Mugabe.

Police say they recovered 25 sachets of Indo hybrid dagga and six ecstacy pills from the syndicate.

Other reports allege Mugabe Junior was also found in possession of cannabis and cocaine.

Mugabe Junior appeared in court on Thursday facing drug possession charges following his arrest in central Harare.

He was remanded in custody by magistrate Lisa Mutendereki and Friday has been set as the date for his bail hearing.
