DM Drama: South African rapper Emtee in damage control after wife’s expose
SOUTH AFRICA – Rap star Emtee has issued an apology to reality TV personality Mshini Lekwadu after direct messages between them were leaked online amid a cheating scandal allegedly exposed by his wife, Nicole Kendall Chinsamy.
Chinsamy recently posted screenshots of the rapper’s private conversations with several women, including Mshini, who gained fame on the last season of Big Brother Mzansi.
As speculation swirled, Emtee released a statement addressing the controversy and apologising to Mshini, her team, and her loved ones.
“I do not know Mshini personally. Like most people, I watched her on Big Brother and saw how she supports my craft,” he said.
“I’m married, so I had no other intention but to say thank you and explore the possibility of working together. I would never intentionally expose our conversations or put her safety at risk.”

Mshini, for her part, denied any romantic involvement with the rapper, explaining that her support for him began in the Big Brother house.
“After the show, he reached out via DM to thank me for my support. I told him I’m a fan and would love to feature in one of his future music videos,” she said.
“Over time, we had brief exchanges, and in his last message, he asked when he could visit. I shared my address believing the conversation was strictly business-related.”
She added that the leaked screenshots were misleading because they omitted key parts of their exchange.
“My intention was purely professional, and I take my brand, my supporters, and my reputation very seriously,” Mshini said.
