BULAWAYO – Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries leader, Prophet Walter Magaya, has revealed plans to renovate the multi-purpose White City Stadium in Bulawayo.
Taking to his social media platforms on Wednesday, Magaya shared that he has engaged in discussions with the newly appointed Minister of Sports, Lieutenant General Anselem Sanyatwe, during his visit to the Heart Stadium for the first time since replacing Kirsty Coventry.
“We also discussed White City Stadium as an opportunity for renovation and upgrade, including the installation of a tartan track and transforming it into a state-of-the-art facility,” revealed Magaya.
Sanyatwe toured the Heart Stadium alongside ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi, Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) Director General Eltah Nengomasha, and Permanent Secretary for Sports Nicholas Moyo, among others.
The Sports Minister commended the work done at the Heart Stadium which was officially opened by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in December 2023.
Sanyatwe said: “A government and its people are like the left hand and the right hand. The left hand supports what the right hand is upholding when it is something special for the nation.
“If it is within the borders and airspace of the country, it automatically becomes a Zimbabwean asset.”
Prophet Magaya also outlined his broader sporting vision, which includes developing a five-a-side football, beach soccer, and volleyball facilities at The Farm Resort.
What happened to Rimuka stadium in Kadoma?
He built a substandard stadium called Heart Stadium in Harare that does not meet CAF standards.If he is resourceful enough he should upgrade his stadium to international standard.and save the country from the disgrace of playing in other countries.
