MONTECITO – Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is returning to acting as she plays a small role in an upcoming Amazon MGM Studios film titled Close Personal Friends.
The 44-year-old took a break from acting eight years ago before announcing she was engaged to Prince Harry.
Her last role was as Rachel Zane in legal drama Suits.
Now the Duchess gets to play a small role in the upcoming movie in which she plays herself, and she is ‘genuinely excited’ about the role.
An insider told People Magazine that Meghan was happy about the role and thought she felt she was rusty.

She was joking that she felt a bit rusty,” said the Insider. “But it was obvious that she had rehearsed and that it was a big deal for her to be back. And she was great.”
The insider further said Markle arrived on the set of the Amazon MGM Studios film and “introduced herself as ‘Meghan.’
“Everything about her was very sweet and calm,” the source shared. “She genuinely seemed excited to be on set.”
Another source said, Prince Harry is ‘really supportive’ of the decision made by his wife to return to acting.
“This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves.”
“She has been swamped with offers, but this one felt right,” a studio insider told The Sun.
Close Personal Friends — starring Brie Larson, Lily Collins, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding — follows a couple who, while vacationing in Santa Barbara, strike up a friendship with a celebrity pair.
