MARONDERA – After leading FC Hunters into the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) this past weekend, Clifford Dzvairo has revealed that his ultimate dream is to become the youngest coach in Zimbabwe’s top-flight league.
The 28-year-old coach, who currently holds a CAF C Licence, won the Eastern Region (Division One) Soccer League ahead of Masvingo United and Tenax who were also in the title matrix.
Dzvairo hopes to remain in charge of FC Hunters next season, a move that would see his dream come true as he makes his PSL debut in the dugout.
“This season has been a really good one for me, to be honest. I’ve managed to tick one of the boxes I never thought I’d achieve this early in my professional career,” Dzvairo said.
“Guiding FC Hunters to the Eastern Region Soccer League (ERSL) championship is by far the best thing to ever happen to my young coaching journey.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the club owner, Mr. Andrew Gore, for trusting me at a time when it wasn’t easy to do so.
“The entire club — management, players, and fans — believed in me and supported me from day one. I owe them more than just this championship.
“Looking ahead, I’m praying that God continues to smile upon me and the whole team. My dream is to be the youngest coach in the PSL, and I believe that, sooner or later, it will happen.
“For now, it’s about finishing the season strong and preparing for life in the PSL, which is a whole new challenge that requires us to be ready in every aspect,” he added.
Dzvairo is set to begin studying for his CAF B Coaching Licence in December, marking another step forward in his promising coaching career.
