SOUTH AFRICA – Social media users in South Africa have refused to support Afrophobic calls to deport musicians, Shasha and Nadia Nakai as well as news anchor Peter Ndoro.
This came after the Patriotic Alliance’s Deputy Secretary for Women’s Affairs, Victoria Africa, went online, blasting Zimbabweans in South Africa, including Ndoro, Nakai, and Shasha, claiming they were taking up spaces reserved for South African citizens.
In her video that has since gone viral, Victoria said, “We don’t want foreigners to represent us, we don’t want foreigners to speak for us. We want them gone.
“We are also coming for the likes of Peter Ndoro, he is a TV presenter in South Africa. Who said we cannot present our own shows in South Africa? Who said we lack such a skill?
She then went on to throw shade at Zimbabwe, claiming the country doesn’t even have celebrities. This is an indication of her ignorance.
“Zimbabweans don’t even have celebrities because all their people are in South Africa. It can be football players, they are all here, and nobody is building a league in Zimbabwe.
“Their musicians, the likes of Nadia Nakai, she must go back to her country and represent her Zimbabwean people.
“We don’t want them in our entertainment structures the likes of Shasha, they are here speaking local languages pretending to be South Africans. We want all those people gone,” said Victoria.
Unfortunately for Victoria, her fellow citizens disagreed with her on this issue as most of them resorted to insulting her for the video she made.
Commenting on the video on Tik Tok users rubbished the community activist.
“Hau wasn’t Operation Dudula against undocumented foreign nationals? So now they are attacking Zimbabweans, even the documented ones? Hai, this is personal,” said a user identified as mama seyabathanda.
Tshepi Tlou asked, “What about our South African presenters who are working in foreign countries?”
User Xolile Dyani commented, saying, “Nadia never stole people’s jobs….”
“Usangene wena (you are crazy) I’m a South African working in Germany and legal. So is Peter Ndoro in South Africa,” said T-nice.
“May God forgive you for hatred. We have South African family members working abroad,” commented Ndivho Maivha.
