HARARE – Clubs from South Africa’s Betway Premiership and the Tanzanian Premier League are reportedly tracking FC Platinum forward Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, whose contract with the Zvishavane side expires in December.
According to sources, several South African teams, including Chippa United, AmaZulu and Stellenbosch, have expressed interest in the 22-year-old.
At the same time, unnamed clubs from the Tanzanian top flight are also said to be monitoring Ngwenya with interest to secure his signature.
A source close to the developments told Nehanda Radio: “Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya is being targeted by a number of clubs, particularly in South Africa.
“Chippa United, whose chairman is known to have a soft spot for Zimbabwean players, is keen to sign him, especially after the club’s recent release of 18 players,” the source revealed.
“AmaZulu have also made inquiries, and Stellenbosch are believed to be interested as well. There is also interest from several clubs in Tanzania.”
The surge in interest follows Ngwenya’s standout performance at the recent COSAFA Cup held in Bloemfontein.
Ngwenya netted a brace in Zimbabwe’s final group stage match against Mozambique.

His efforts earned him a place in the tournament’s Best XI for the group stage.
Ngwenya is currently in fine form, having scored FC Platinum’s equaliser against Dynamos yesterday in a match that was later abandoned following DeMbare’s protest over the referee’s decision to award a penalty to platinum.
