HARARE – Comedian and musician Freddy Manjalima, popularly known as Kapfupi, claims he has quit alcohol, after he finally collected a car donated to him by controversial tenderpreneur Wicknell Chivayo.
Chivayo fulfilled his promise to give a car to Kapfupi after the comedian and musician lost the vehicle he had been given last year.
Last week, Chivayo refused to provide the replacement car to Kapfupi, after he arrived drunk at the location where he was supposed to collect the US$9000 vehicle.
Chivayo had also promised to give the comedian, who in his initial plea had said he needed the vehicle to sustain his livelihood, US$3000 for car insurance.
In a heartfelt letter on social media, Kapfupi thanked Wicknell for giving him another chance, as he pointed out that he had learnt his lesson and had been sober since the incident.
“Tsamba kuna baba vangu Sir Wicknell chekutanga ndoda kutenda Mwarii neumwe mukana wavakupai kutii mundirangirirewo neumwe mudziyoo yuu chokwadi baba munoitwa chiranga mapenzi kubva zvamatii ngaazouya next week arisobha kubva ipapo handina kuzombobvira ndakabata Doro futii.
“Ende handichatobate kuipa kwechimwe kunaka kwechimwe apa makandidzidzisa ndikadzidza Mukomborwe na Mwarii midzimu haipe katatu asii mu Postorii anopa ka Shanu chaikoo,” he wrote.
