HARARE – FC Platinum head coach Norman Mapeza could not hide his excitement during a post match interview at Rufaro Stadium on Easter Monday when he was asked about Jarrison Selemani’s world class goal during his side’s 1-1 draw with Scottland.

Mapeza who is hard to please, was left in awe by Selemani’s thunderbolt strike from outside the box, excitedly calling it a “fantastic, marvelous, and massive” goal.

Without doubt, Selemani’s thunderous right footed effort could be a contender for Goal of the Season in the 2025 season.

Coming off the bench, the speedy winger immediately made an impact.

In the build up to the goal, he drove the ball towards Scottland’s defense, dribbling past right back Gareth Madhake to get himself closer to the goal.

He then unleashed a sensational strike that left goalkeeper Nelson Chadya with no chance, despite a full stretch dive.

Asked to comment on the goal, Mapeza simply but loudly, said: “Fantastic. Marvelous. Massive.”

Scottland’s coach, Tonderai Ndiraya also could not hide his admiration.

“That was a wonder goal from Jarrison Selemani, it can win any match in any league. Technically well struck,” he said during the post match interview.

However, Ndiraya also expressed concern about his defense, saying that Selemani was not “closed down tightly,” and that his players gave the winger “too much room” and allowed him to “get closer to the box.”

Scottland took the lead earlier through Vassil Kawe, who tapped home after an assist from Khama Billiat.

The Scott Sakupwanya-owned outfit went into the break 1-0 up.

FC Platinum came back a more improved side in the second half, dominating play until Selemani found the equaliser.

The Zvishavane based side nearly stole the win late in the match when Brian Banda struck the upright from a rebound.

An unmarked Banda had a golden opportunity after Chadya’s save off a Selemani free kick, fell at his feet but his effort went on to hit the post.

Despite creating fewer chances, Ndiraya expressed satisfaction with his team’s continued improvement.

Mapeza said “I will not pressure my boys” after Platinum who have had a poor run, having gone for four games without tasting a win.
