Fellow compatriots, recent revelations by South Africa’s Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) that the poster boy of corruption Wicknell Chivayo received millions of United States dollars from the Zimbabwean Treasury are what should provoke everyone who loves Zimbabwe to rise up against corruption.
The explosive report by South Africa’s FIC reveals that Chivayo received R800 million from a shady South African election materials supply firm that was paid R1.1 billion from Zimbabwe’s Treasury.
This grand-scale looting poses serious threats to the very existence of Zimbabwe as a country.
The amount of money that the FIC has exposed is so shocking at a time when public hospitals are in shambles, children are dropping out of school, civil servants can’t survive as they’re earning peanuts and Zimbabwe is grappling with high levels of informality due to corruption induced de-industrialisation!
That Zanu PF’s cronies are siphoning national funds into foreign bank accounts and it remains business as usual in the country is absolutely unacceptable.
Our country needs to be rescued from these lumpen looters.
We have to rescue our country from a tiny kleptocratic elite that is using the State as a channel for primitive accumulation.
We have to speak out because this country belongs to everyone and not politically exposed persons such as Chivayo and other regime enablers. Zimbabwe needs a caring government.
A government that loves the country and its people. And such a government cannot be Zanu led. Because Zanu is being bankrolled by corrupt maniacs like Chivayo.
In short, Zimbabwe must be rescued from both Zanu and Chivayo.
