LUTON – Zimbabwe Warriors and Luton Town defensive midfielder Marvelous Nakamba has recovered from a leg injury and could return to action this weekend, the Hatters’ coach Matt Bloomfield has confirmed.

Nakamba had been sidelined since late February after sustaining a soleus injury in his calf, forcing him to miss Luton Town’s last seven matches.

Providing an update on the former Aston Villa midfielder’s recovery and availability, Bloomfield said:

“Marv (Nakamba) is just ahead of Shandon. Marv could possibly be in consideration for the weekend (against Blackburn Rovers) as he’s going to train with the group for the first time today (Monday).”

Nakamba has now resumed full training with the rest of the squad and may be in contention for selection.

His return is a boost to Luton Town who are facing relegation.

The relegated English Premier League side currently sits in the relegation zone at number 23 with just six games remaining.
