BULAWAYO – Highlanders Football Club has appointed executive committee member Kindman Ndlovu as interim Chief Executive Officer, the club confirmed in a statement on Monday.
“Following the resignation of Mr. Brian Moyo as Chief Executive Officer, Highlanders Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kindman Ndlovu, a member of the Executive Committee, as Interim Chief Executive Officer.
“The club has every confidence that Mr. Ndlovu’s leadership will ensure stability and continuity in the club’s operations, driving progress and success in the coming period,” announced the club.
Ndlovu steps in to fill the void left by Brian Moyo who resigned on Saturday after being suspended on Thursday amid allegations of fraud and corruption.
Moyo, who had recently taken over from the late Sihlangu Dlodlo, is accused of submitting a fraudulent US$23,000 invoice to the club for the transfer of two players from Bulawayo Chiefs, despite the actual fee being US$18,000.
The alleged fraudulent deal was discovered, leading to Moyo’s suspension and the initiation of an internal investigation.
However, Moyo tendered his resignation before the disciplinary process was concluded, which the club accepted and announced over the weekend.
