“Telling me you wanted to buy me a GLE is insulting.” – Holy Ten, Wicknell clash

Rapper Holy Ten has escalated his feud with controversial tenderpreneur Wicknell Chivayo, claiming that he felt insulted by the mogul’s offer to buy him a motor vehicle for his support of the ruling party party in the last Zimbabwean elections.

In October, the outspoken rapper hit out at the businessman, accusing him of inserting himself into people’s affairs after he donated a top-of-the-range vehicle to the late Oliver Mtukudzi’s widow, Daisy Mtukudzi.

Daisy had been under scrutiny in the weeks preceding their donation after her step-daughters, Selmor and Sandra brought to light the abuse they alleged they suffered while under her care.

Responding to Holy Ten’s inquiry about why he had unfollowed him on social media, Wicknell said he had found the comments about the Daisy affair distasteful. This, he said, was the reason why he was not giving the rapper a car.

“I had a lot of respect and love for you until you disrespected me over Mai Mtukudzi’s gift. You were even on my list for a GLE this Christmas as somebody who openly supported the President.

“For you to say “ndapindira ma family issues ” was baseless and nonsensical to say the least with utmost due respect.

“I’m not on your level but l’ve always supported your music. I thought you were a brilliant young man with a great future ahead. I also know your relationship with Collins who’s also someone I have great respect for,” Wicknell said.

In reply, Holy Ten said he was insulted that the businessman thought of him as a gun for hire that could be bought off with a car.

“I support the president but I don’t support the president so that I get a GLE. The fact that you are even telling me you wanted to buy me a GLE is insulting. If someone wants to buy me a car they need to start at the G-Wagon.

“I supported the president from a point of proper solidarity. I wanted to feel like a comrade. I won’t stop telling people the truth because I might not get rewards from Zanu PF. I support the Zanu PF out out of pure patriotism,” he said.
