“Zimbabwe’s football history is incomplete without mentioning one player who pushed boundaries and showed the world that when talent meets hard work, magic happens.

“From the dusty streets of Makokoba in Bulawayo, a young, super-talented footballer dreamed of becoming the pride of Zimbabwe’s football.

“His consistent brilliance at Highlanders FC dazzled fans as much as we all loved him as captain of the national team, the Warriors.

“He made history as the first African to play in the English Premier League in 1992, breaking records and elevating our nation’s presence on the global stage.

“A big congratulations to you the G.O.A.T, the one and only football talisman, Peter “Nsukuzonke” Ndlovu, a man who defined football in Zimbabwe and abroad.

“I understand you are now based in South Africa, but as a millionaire in all currencies, I can surely make things happen wherever you are. Having said that, please go and see Browny at Vogue Auto Motors Alon and Rivonia Rd, Morningside, Sandton.

Controversial tenderpreneur Wicknell Chivayo has once again made headlines after gifting a brand-new 2024 BMW X6M Sport, worth USD$144, 000, to Zimbabwean football legend Peter Ndlovu.

“A quick 2,6 million rand or USD$144, 000 well spent whole heartedly on this legend. This is a small token of my appreciation for your outstanding contribution to the game of  football and for inspiring generations of Zimbabwean soccer fans,” he posted.

Last week, Chivayo honored other Zimbabwean football legends, Moses Chunga and Charles Mabika.

He bought them brand new 2024 Toyota Fortuners valued at US$150,000 each.

The source of Chivayo’s wealth though remains a source of great debate with accusations he is exploiting his proximity to President Emmerson Mnangagwa to loot the state run parastatals and commissions.

Chivayo was for example was corruptly awarded a US$40 million tender for the supply of election materials to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).

Chivayo was also accused of defrauding the Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) of US$5,6 million in the controversial Gwanda Solar Project which has failed to take off.

Although he was later cleared by the courts there is lingering suspicion his closeness to the president played a part.
