One time Zimbabwe national team goalkeeper, Elvis Chipezeze, has expressed his desire to return to the Warriors fold after a series of impressive performances for Magesi FC in the South African Premiership.
The 34-year-old shot-stopper has been a standout performer for Magesi, particularly in the Carling Black Label Cup, where he has been named Man of the Match in three consecutive games.
The former Chicken Inn goalie’s outstanding displays have seen a section of Warriors fans discussing his potential return to the Warriors squad.
As a result, Nehanda Radio interviewed Chipezeze seeking to know if he still wants to don the Warriors jersey.
His response was clear: “I would love to play for the national team again,” said the 34-year old veteran goalkeeper.
He added: “Why would I turn down such an opportunity? I still want to represent my nation.”
Chipezeze wished the Warriors the best of luck ahead of their crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Kenya and Cameroon respectively.
“I wish the boys all the best. They have done so well and fought hard to reach where they are. I believe in the team, a draw or win against Kenya is possible.”
A positive result against Kenya on Friday will secure the Warriors a place at the 2025 AFCON finals.
Chipezeze last played for the Warriors in 2021 away to Algeria in the AFCON qualifiers.
