There is no time to rest for the recently appointed Zimbabwe Warriors coach Michael Nees as the senior national team games are coming thick and fast.
Currently, Nees and his troops are in camp in South Africa for the back to back AFCON qualifiers versus Namibia.
As they conclude the qualifiers for the continent’s prestigious competition, he (Nees) will start preparations for the upcoming CHAN qualifiers following the draw that was done by CAF on Wednesday.
Fresh from the AFCON qualifiers, the Warriors will clash against Eswatini between 25 and 27 October (first leg) while the second leg is scheduled for 1- 3 November at venues yet to known.
The winner of this tie will advance to face Madagascar in the final round.
By facing Eswatini, Nees will clash with his predecessor, Zdravko Logarusic who was sacked by ZIFA in 2021 for a series of disappointing results.
Logarusic is now the coach of Eswatini senior national team following his recent appointment.
The Croatian was shown the exit door by the then ZIFA bosses after managing only one win in 14 matches.
His famous win was the 1-0 victory away to Botswana, contributing to Zimbabwe’s qualification for the 2021 AFCON finals in Cameroon.
CHAN is a tournament played only by footballers playing in their local leagues in their respective countries.
