JOHANNESBURG – Rapper Busta Rhymes brought proceedings to a standstill at Sandton’ Liv Nightclub after one of his colleague’s iPhone 12 was stolen.
The rapper, who was in South Africa for a performance at the DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival in Kyalami, offered a USD$5000 (R90000) reward for the recovery of the iPhone 12 which reportedly contained important information.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, an incensed Busta is seen putting brakes on the party in order to kickstart a search for the phone.
“If you took the iPhone 12, you’re a p*y, literally!’ he said. “$5,000 to the person who returns this lady’s iPhone,’ he said.
“Please bring it back and do the honourable thing. Let’s represent the African people the way we are supposed to.’ He went further and got a bit angry. “I want that iPhone 12. F*k you! I’m not joking, either. I’m smiling because I’m happy,” he said.
Busta and Jason Derulo have been announced as the new headline acts for the weekend’s DStv Delicious Festival in Johannesburg after R&B star Janet Jackson withdrew following the death of her brother, Tito Jackson, on Sunday, September 25.
