HARARE – Zimbabwe giants Dynamos are determined to secure a place in the Group Stages of the CAF Confederation Cup when they face Orapa United of Botswana in the second leg tie slated for Sunday.
The match is scheduled to take place at the Obedi Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown with Dynamos as hosts.
This is on the backdrop of Zimbabwe currently not having a CAF certified stadium to host any international matches, a situation that Mablanyo described as unhealthy.
“Unfortunately, we have to play home away from home. It’s an unfortunate scenario that we find ourselves in as Zimbabwean football team, including the national team, which is not healthy,” he said after they beat Orapa 1-0 at the same venue last Sunday.
DeMbare enter Sunday’s game with a slight advantage, having won the first leg thanks to Valentine Kadonzvo’s solitary goal in the dying minutes.
Chigowe believes his players are highly motivated and determined to secure a positive result in the second leg.
He insisted the lucrative prize money for qualifying for the group stages, will serve as motivation for his players.
“The boys are looking forward to the second leg. They have got their eyes on the prize. We have a motivated group of boys,” said the veteran gaffer.
He also emphasised on the need for his players to expect a tough battle.
“Orapa are not a walkover. They are a possession-based team who played with fluency so we have to be prepared for another tough battle,” he said.
DeMbare are guaranteed a lucrative US$400 000 windfall if they qualify for the group stages.
The Glamour Boys who are 90 minutes away from glory, should avoid a defeat to progress to the next round.
