LUTON – England based Zimbabwe international midfielder Marvelous Nakamba has said “I feel good to be back” following his recovery from a knee injury.
Nakamba has been on the sidelines for eight months due to the injury set back.
He had last played in December 2023.
The ex-Bantu Rovers star regained full fitness recently and was introduced in Luton Town’s cup tie against QPR last week, playing the first half only.
Furthermore, he started in Luton’s 1-0 win over Millwall at the weekend but was also subbed off in the second half.
Speaking on his return, said Nakamba: “I feel good to be back. “I’m trying my best every time, and with the help from the technical team, physios, everyone around and the players, I feel great.”
He added: ‘I feel happy to be back, playing my first league match. I played in the cup before, so I got more minutes today (Saturday) to keep pushing myself to the maximum and to be ready as soon as possible.”
The Warriors captain missed the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers due to the knee injury.
However, following his recovery he is likely set to return to the Warriors fold as Zimbabwe takes on Namibia in the AFCON qualifiers early next month.
The back to back fixture is scheduled for 11 and 15 October.
