South African musician Brickz’s bid to improve his life while he languishes behind bars received fresh impetus after he graduated from Boston City Campus after completing one of his courses.
The Kwaito star, who just completed a political science course, is reportedly also doing another one in marketing management.
Brickz, real name Sipho Ndlovu, is serving his 15-year jail term at Leeuwkop maximum facility, after he raped his 17-year-old relative in 2013.
A close friend of the musician revealed that Brickz had been intent on improving his life while behind bars.
“He has truly turned a new leaf; he found God and is on a righteous path. Not a lot of inmates focus on their goals; others become worse criminals behind bars, but Brickz has truly changed,”the friend said.
Brickz’s son, Gugulethu Cleopas Ndlovu (18), said he was proud of the strides being taken by his father.
“He is inspiring; no one is perfect. He is a positive thinker and speaks of only good things,” Gugulethu said.
Gugulethu, who is also a DJ, has in the recent past clashed with his father due to his career choice. The young musician said he was only following in the footsteps of his father.
“My musical gene comes from him, and I can’t ignore it,” he added.
