Zimbabwean international attacking midfielder, Tawanda Chirewa has spoken about his first Zimbabwe Warriors goal, saying “that (goal) was amazing”.
The rising star revealed this to his club Wolverhampton Wanderers’ media team during their recent preseason tour in the United States of America.
“That (goal) was amazing. I don’t know how I can describe it. It’s one of the best achievements I have ever done in my career,” said the 20-year old.
Chirewa scored his first international goal in June when Zimbabwe lost 3-1 to South Africa during a World Cup qualifier played at Free State Stadium.
It was his second match in Warriors colours after having made his debut two day before when Zimbabwe was humiliated 2-0 by minnows Lesotho at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.
The forward is expected to propel the Warriors to a decent start in the upcoming 2025 AFCON qualifiers set to kick start in September.
Adding to his comments, Chirewa said he is geared up for the matches.
“It (goal against Bafana Bafana) was amazing, but I’m now looking forward to the next international break.”
The Warriors are set to begin their quest to qualify for the 2025 AFCON finals with a clash against Kenya away.
