HARARE – In form Khama Billiat scored his ninth goal of the season when Yadah came from behind to beat 10-men Bulawayo Chiefs at the Heart Stadium on Sunday.
Chiefs took the lead in the 51st minute through new signing Reason Sibanda who arrived on a loan from Highlanders.
The debutant Sibanda’s goal was then cancelled by the former Warriors star, Billiat, just after the hour mark before Evans Rusike sealed the victory for the Miracle Boys in the stoppage time.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs forward leveled matters in the 64th minute, adding his season tally to nine after 21 matches played.
He remains the league’s current joint top scorer with William Manondo who scored for CAPS United when they lost 2-1 to Arenel Movers on Saturday.
Speaking to the media after the match, Yadah coach Thomas Ruzive praised Billiat for his scoring prowess.
Furthermore, he tipped the 34-year old to scoop the golden boot award come the end of the 2024 campaign.
“As a coach, I’m giving him (Billiat) the target to be the top goal scorer come end of the season,” said Ruzive.
He believes that the Aces Youth Soccer Academy graduate will reach the 20 goal mark, a feet that was last achieved by the late Norman Maroto.
“…I think Khama Billiat can get to 20 goals (this season),” Ruzive added.
In their next assignment, Yadah are set to play second placed Simba Bhora at Wadzanai Stadium in Shamva.
