Zimbabwe Warriors legend Peter ‘Nsukuzonke’ Ndlovu has taken to his social media platforms to pay his tribute for former Dynamos FC star Norman Maroto who passed away recently aged 40.
Ndlovu took to X to post a touching image of himself and Maroto standing side by side whilst holding a shield.
The photo was captured in April when the late Maroto presented Ndlovu with the Paul Gundani Legend Award from the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ).
In his caption, Ndlovu went on to reveal his personal wish:
“We all know, that we have lost a good human being in Norman. I had a chance of telling him how I wished he had played in my time as he played for the team and others on the field.”

The former Highlanders and Sheffield United star who described Maroto as “a good human being” added:
“Your sudden death Norman has left us wondering what’s next in our space. Condolences to the families, especially the wife and kids, to the football fraternity that you served with dignity both as a player and administrator, and to all the friends,” posted Ndlovu.
Maroto’s death was announced by FUZ on Friday morning.
He died at a private hospital in Harare, where he was reportedly admitted and put on life support after a short illness.

Nicknamed ‘Lumumba’ during his playing days, Maroto holds a significant record in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) as the last striker to score over 20 goals in a season.
He scored 22 goals when he was with Gunners FC back in 2010.
At the time of his passing, Maroto was serving as the Communications Officer for the FUZ, alongside his former Dynamos teammates Desmond Maringwa and Wonder Sithole.
