English Championship outfit Plymouth Argyle are in talks with Zimbabwe Warriors defender Brendan Galloway over a possible contract extension.

This was confirmed by the club’s Director of Football Neil Dewsnip last week who also said the club is negotiating with another defender Mikel Miller.

“Negotiations have already taken place so we’re well down the pathway,” said Dewsnip.

“We’ve talked to both players, we’ve talked to both agents and discussions are ongoing, but there’s the obvious isn’t there, what league are we in?

“I think both players have done well in the Championship, they want to stay in the Championship, so would I, so I don’t really foresee too many issues as long as we’re in this league.”

Galloway’s contract with Plymouth is ending this August but he is likely set to remain at the club.

This comes after the club expressed it’s interest in keeping him for the 2024/25 campaign.

However, Galloway’s decision to stay will be based on whether Plymouth who are four points clear above the relegation zone survive demotion.

The Pilgrims are desperate to retain Galloway after the 28-year-old played a key role in helping them secure promotion from the English League One.

Galloway joined Argyle in the summer of 2021 after impressing during a pre-season trial.
