Gold dealer MP Scott Sakupwanya (45) to play for his club Scotland FC

HARARE – Zanu PF Member of Parliament (MP) for Mabvuku-Tafara and gold dealer Scott Sakupwanya (45) is set to turn out for his club Scotland FC which competes in the Northern Region Division One League.

According to reports, Sakupwanya who is a benefactor for Highlanders through his Better Brands Jewellery company, told the Northern Region Times he is set play to inspire his players to achieve.

“My goal is to inspire my players to achieve great things in life. I believe we can do it and I’m excited to be part of the action. I have been involved in football before so it’s not going to be a problem,” Sakupwanya told the Times.

Sakupwanya was reportedly registered by Scotland FC after completing his paperwork.

He will follow in the footsteps of Mutasa South MP Innocent Benza, who is also playing professional football at the age of 52 with the side he owns, Herentals Football Club.

Sakupwanya will also play alongside former Dynamos star and Warriors captain Denver Mukamba who was signed by the ambitious club recently.

“Denver (Mukamba) is now a Scotland player. He signed a contract to officially join us. We are happy to have him,” an official told revealed last week.

Following a good start to the campaign, Scotland could be eyeing a historic promotion to the top flight league.
