Former CAPS United and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Nyasha Mushekwi is now leading the goal scorers chart in the Chinese League One.
Mushekwi who is turning out for Yunnan Yukun (sometimes shortened to YN Yukun) after joining the club at the start of the season, has found the net four times in five matches.
He is one goal ahead of Pan Song, Italo Montano Cortes and Raphael Bouli who are tied on three goals each.
The 36-year-old’s goals have helped YN Yukun go top of the log table with 13 points after five matches.
YN Yukun are League One newcomers after earning their promotion in 2024 following their top finish in League Two.
Mushekwi joined the side in February as a free agent after leaving Chinese Super League side Zhejiang Greentown.
The ex-Warriors striker left Greentown as the club’s all time leading top goal scorer after surpassing former Bafana Bafana striker Dino Ndlovu.
