In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old female footballer Florencia Guinazu was allegedly murdered by her ‘abusive’ ex-husband Agustin Noto (32).
The incident is said to have occurred on 6 April in Argentina at the ex-couples home.
Noto reportedly strangled Guinazu to death in their bedroom before hanging himself in the same room.
But before killing himself, he allegedly put a notice on one of the windows at a their house instructing neighbours to: “call 911, the children are alone”.
This occurred when their seven year old son, Milo, was reportedly in the other room playing video games.
Following the notice, neighbours responded and went to the house only to find the couples son alone playing video games before they took him to a safe place.
It is reported the son told neighbours he knocked at his parents’ bedroom numerous times without response, prompting neighbours to call the police.
Police forcefully entered the bedroom, found Guinazu lying on the floor while Noto was hanging from the ceiling.
This happened five months after the former Club Atletico Argentino de Mendoza player, Guinazu, had reported her ex-partner for domestic violence.
Paying tribute, Guinazu’s club wrote in a statement: “We regret the death of our player. We send our condolences to Ambar and Milo, her children, and her family on behalf of the entire club.”
Despite being a professional footballer, Guinazu was a model, qualified tattoo artist and an occupational hygiene and safety technician.
Guinazu and Noto have left behind two children, son Milo (7) and daughter Ambar (5).
