Harare giants Dynamos FC on Tuesday announced the appointment of their new vice chairman Clement Chimbari who replaces Vincent Chawonza who was fired by the club in February for allegedly violating the club’s rules.
Apart from Chimbari, the Glamour Boys also appointed Justice Mubayi as the club’s new committee member who will be responsible for development teams.
A statement from the club read: “Dynamos Football Club board would like to confirm the appointment of Mr Clemence Chimbari: Vice Chairman of the Club Executive Committee and Mr Justice Mubayi: Committee Member responsible for Development teams.
“The Board is pleased to welcome the two professionals to their new placements, which appointments have been informed by the duo’s professional qualifications and football backgrounds,” DeMbare confirmed.
“The club would like to wish Messrs Chimbari and Mubayi a successful tenure and it is our conviction that the two professionals will contribute to the growth of the brand of the club.
“Mr Chimbari, a legal expert extraordinaire by training, will add value to the club through his legal background.
“Mr Mubayi, a chartered accountant with a global network, will be handy to the club given his strong financial background.”

The new appointments come at a time there has been hiring and firing of the executive under the leadership of club owner Bernard Marriot.
The appointment of Chimbari has not been without controversy. He is a former Chief Public Prosecutor and Marriot has a pending fraud case at the courts where he is accused of allocating himself 15% of the club’s shareholding.
Chimbari is into monitoring and evaluation at the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) headquarters having served at the Rotten Row Magistrate’s Court before he was moved to the NPA head office.
Marriot however claims he has no case to answer because he is the only surviving founder member of the club and that in 1999 they incorporated a private company, through which Dynamos Football Club would be owned and run.
The complainants are former Dynamos players who include Garikai Zuze, the late David George, Ernest Kamba, Samson Mukomondo, Bernard Shonhiwa Chidziwa and David Phiri.
