Zimbabwe Warriors prospect Michael Ndiweni scored the winning goal for Annan Athletic when they secured a 2-1 win over Stirling in a Scottish League One match played on Saturday.
The 20-year-old scored in the 58th minute to secure victory for Annan who bounced back to winning ways after last week’s 2-1 loss to Alloa Athletic.
Ndiweni is on loan for six months from the English Premier League (EPL) side Newcastle United.
He joined Annan Athletic in January and will turn out for the club for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.
Newcastle United Academy Director Steve Harper believes the loan move will provide Ndiweni a “platform to get regular senior game time”.
He said upon Ndiweni’s departure: “The loan to Annan gives Michael a platform to get regular senior game time and we wish him well for his spell there.”
Ndiweni made his EPL debut for the Magpies in November 2023 when he came off the bench against Chelsea.
