In 2018 opposition leaders handed him the reigns to lead the MDC Alliance with only six months to the General Election. He achieved an election triumph amid adversity with his opponent only being legitimised as winner through a controversial court judgement.
Chamisa’s 2018 triumph highlighted his prowess in mobilizing grassroots support, uniting political entities, and adeptly navigating intricate political landscapes.
Chamisa’s bold move in 2022 to launch the Citizens Coalition of Change (CCC) proved pivotal at a time when the regime wanted to overpower and control the opposition politics.
Only two months later the newly launched CCC won 19 of the 28 National Assembly seats subsequently securing a significant election victory.
Chamisa navigated the CCC through the expansive landscape of Zimbabwe in preparation for the August 2023 General Election, personally reaching every corner of the nation and engaging directly with its citizens.
This hands-on approach and connection with grassroot communities shaped the CCC’s national policy Blueprint, aptly titled ‘For Everyone.’
Despite the contentious outcome of the August election, with Mnangagwa declaring himself the winner amid unanimous outcry of foul play from local and international election observers, Chamisa remains undeterred.
In the face of the regime’s persistent attempts to undermine him on the path to liberating Zimbabwe, he stands resolute, unwavering in his commitment to ushering in a new era for the nation.
Chamisa stands as the people’s leader, cherished from Zambezi to Limpopo for his unwavering commitment to forging a new, great Zimbabwe defined by opportunities and freedoms for every citizen.
His steadfast dedication to this vision, undeterred by adversity, solidifies his position as a formidable leader and a genuine alternative to the prevailing political landscape in the nation.
